Personality: At first glance, Eiko can come across as a spunky and slightly snobbish girl. At times, she can be quite excitable, and she rarely thinks before she speaks. It’s something she’s working on, but there’s still a lot of room for improvement. Having spent the majority of her life alone in Madain Sari with only moogles to keep her company, Eiko tends to be pretty lacking in people skills. In a lot of ways, she’s like a puppy who was never properly socialized. She’s just so thrilled to be with people now that she becomes overwhelmed and sometimes trips over her words. Because of this, she can sometimes come across a bit overeager.
Eiko is not always entirely sure how to relate to people, and it frustrates or confuses her, which in turn leads to her acting out in an attempt to make herself the center of attention. She quite enjoys being in the limelight, though she doesn't always choose the best method of putting herself there. True, too, she’s occasionally prone to showing off if she’s feeling overconfident.
Family is very important to Eiko, and she’d do just about anything for the ones she cares about. For all her flaws, Eiko is true to her word. If she says she’s going to do something, she’ll absolutely see it through to the end. The promise she made to her grandfather stuck with her and she was content to stick around her home, fully intent on remaining there until the day she turned sixteen. The thought of leaving was also terrifying, which might have had something to do with it as well. But meeting Zidane and the others allows her to consider another perspective, inspiring her to want to set out and see new places.
Insatiably curious about the world, Eiko is not at all afraid to go out and poke around until she gets the answers she’s looking for. While she can occasionally feel self-conscious around large groups of people, EIko tends to be more outgoing than you’d expect. She’s not at all afraid to start up a conversation with someone new. She can be quite tenacious when she gets an idea into her head, and trying to change her mind once she’s made it up is nearly impossible. When she first meets Zidane and the others, she gets it into her head that he's in love with Garnet, at which point she decides to try to steal his heart so he'll stay with her. She goes so far as to cook a nice meal for him and, later, even writes him a love letter with this goal in mind. A series of mishaps lead to the letter never being delivered, and Eiko eventually realizes that her "crush" had more to do with not wanting to be alone than any particular interest in Zidane.
Like a lot of young children, Eiko can be pretty impatient. She doesn’t like to wait any longer than absolutely necessary. When she wants something, she wants it now. Similarly, she’s not terribly fond of sitting still. She’s energetic and tends to always want to be doing something. Eiko is passionate about the things she’s interested in, and almost always ready to share them with people. Unsurprisingly, she’s prone to fixating on things that interest her, and it’s generally obvious in that it influences the things she says or does.
(Some of this is mostly speculation based on what I remember of the game and what I've read off the wiki, but I've tried to stick as close to established canon as I could.)
